So do you want a rich and creamy pie?  This pie is exactly that, rich creamy, and will make you think you are a millionaire. So maybe we aren’t all millionaires, but this is a delicious pie that everyone will be asking you for the recipe.

There are similar recipes out there for a millionaire pie that has whipped topping as an ingredient but don’t go that route, take a few more steps, and you will have a pie that makes you feel like you are a millionaire.

Furr’s cafeteria was first started as a family, cafeteria-style restaurant back in the 1940s.  Today, while the delicious food and flavors haven’t changed, the restaurant is more of a buffet-style restaurant.

How to Make this Millionaire Pie

Furr’s millionaire pie is a creamy pie that is sweet and bursting with flavors of the tropics. And did I mention it only takes 20 minutes to make.

Here’s what you need:

  • Powdered Sugar
  • Butter
  • Eggs
  • Salt
  • Vanilla Extract
  • Pie Crust
  • Heavy Cream
  • Crushed Pineapple
  • Pecans

First, mix together the butter and powdered sugar with a hand mixer. Add eggs, salt, and vanilla. Beat until light and fluffy.

Spread the mixture into the pie crusts and put it in the refrigerator.  Meanwhile, beat the heavy cream until stiff.  Blend in the additional powdered sugar and fold in the pineapples and pecans.

Spread the mixture on top of filling and put back in the refrigerator and chill thoroughly.

  • If you concerned about using raw eggs, please use imitation eggs such as eggbeaters, or eggs that have been pasteurized, either work well. Pasteurized eggs are very safe for people who may have compromised immune systems.

  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans

Instructions

  • Cream 2 cups powdered sugar and butter with an electric mixer. Add eggs, salt, and vanilla. Beat until light and fluffy. Spread mixture evenly into baked pie crusts. Chill.
